Italy and Algeria strengthen their relations

ALGERIA / ITALY. Held on November 14, 2012 in Algiers, the Algerian-Italian second peak under the Treaty of friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation signed on 27 January 2003 helped to achieve eight cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
The Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti, invited President Abdelaziz Bouteflika said on this occasion that his country will intensify "its presence, its cooperation and support to the Algerian economy."
A cooperation agreement was signed in the field of technology, industry and trade in military aviation. Two other agreements cover shipping and coordination of search and rescue at sea
Five memorandums were also initialed. One focuses on industrial cooperation, while the second relates to the promotion of partnership.
Italy has grown to become the largest trading partner of European Algeria. Both countries welcomed the progress of the project GALSI of long-term supply market of the Italian peninsula gas.
Economic relations between Rome and Algiers should be strengthened with the establishment of a Task Force responsible for bilateral and pulse monitoring partnerships in the industrial field. This Task Force should meet at the beginning of 2013.
